Established in Italy in 1911, Fila was internationally respected, having gained world class recognition in tennis apparel. They developed brand recognition by marketing products with a sophisticated design and style content embraced by trendsetting urbanites and sports celebrities.
Savvy endorsement contracts with basketball stars Grant Hill and Jerry Stackhouse helped to push the brand from an eighth place ranking worldwide to number three--behind Nike and Reebok--by 1996. Although Fila is now owned by Fila Korea, Ltd. from SBI, and is now South Korea's largest company, Fila has remained faithful to its Italian origins, and style, passion and creativity, the essence of being Italian, are deeply embedded in its genetic code. Fila continues to innovate and reintroduce new and classic shoe styles for old and new fans.
Fila recently developed a collection of men's apparel and footwear in collaboration with ATP World Tour star James Blake playing up Blake's signature style. The collection will debut with a limited collection of tennis and fitness apparel due to launch Spring/Summer 2010. Recently Fila collaborated with Japanese brand Inhomeout for the colorations of their Original Tennis Sneaker. Awesome color combos are combined with simple styling that really works. These sneakers are due to debut in April, get em' before they're gone!
